Nugget Hops

Nugget Hop Profile

Released in 1984, Nugget was bred as a high alpha hop by the USDA and has since become mainstay in many bigger beer styles like IPAs and stouts. Though it's primarily celebrated for its clean bittering (11-16%), Nugget offers some flavorful advantages as a dual-purpose variety with heavy notes of herbal and pine resin, and a kick of grapefruit zest. The reliable secret weapon that gives depth and structure to big beers.

Aroma: Heavy spicy-herbal. Fresh-crushed herbs, grapefruit zest, stone fruit, pineapple, resin
Typical Usage: Bittering
Pedigree: Daughter of Brewers Gold
Alpha Acids*: 11.5 - 14.0 %
Beta Acids: 3.0 - 5.0 %
Cohumulone 22 - 30 % of alpha acids
