Talus Hops

Talus Hop Profile

Previously known as HBC 692 and a daughter of Sabro®, Talus® is a variety from the Hop Breeding Company, a joint venture between John I. Haas and Yakima Chief Ranches. Talus bursts with a layered bouquet of pink grapefruit, citrus rinds, dried roses and resinous pine, rounded out by tropical fruit and sage. These flavors are well-suited for West Coast and Northwest-style IPAs, though it's an impactful fit in many beer styles. Talus also has an uncommon 1:1 ratio of alpha to beta acids, a characteristic highly sought after by German brewers for pilsners because it helps create a more "harmonious" bitterness. Expressive flavor, balanced bitterness and versatile brewing performance.

SEE WHAT BREWERS ARE SAYING ABOUT OUR TALUS® HOPS

“From farm to glass, Talus is a robust hop that provides a great, consistent flavor outcome,” says Virgil McDonald, Innovations Brewmaster at John I. Haas. “Its bold aroma translates to strong brewing performance, with a versatility that lends itself to many beer styles, particularly hop-forward beers.”
